about

This sampler is available to download at no cost - but feel free to support your favourite producer and buy the album for $4 - enough for a coffee!

Organism was established in 2010 by Richard Apperley and Kyle Macdonald to release Richard’s debut solo CD Johann Kuhnau - Musicalische Vorstellung einiger biblischer Historien. Since then sixteen additional discs have been recorded for release on the label. The label was created to serve independent artists, and to provide them with creative control over their recordings while keeping costs to an absolute minimum. We firmly believe that the recording process needs to be a collaborative one - and the quality of each disc we have released is testament to the effectiveness of this premise.

It has been a challenge to narrow down the tracks to present on this sampler - but it has been a joy to go back and re-listen to our CDs. The repertoire in our catalogue is hugely diverse - from North German baroque organ music to organ works by New Zealand composers, and from the vocal music of Bach through to jazz.

We hope you enjoy this selection of music - and please do support our artists by buying the CDs or digital downloads of those that you do enjoy.
